These are Australia’s Trending Interior Paint Colours for 2024

If you’re planning on renovating or repainting your home in 2024, there are a few different trending colours to be on the lookout for this year.

Whether you’re wanting something light and bright or you’re looking for something more neutral and grey there's a trending colour to suit your home and your style. We are already halfway through 2024, this is what we’ve been seeing in the interior paint space so far and what you can expect to see for the second half of the year!

Browns are back

This year has seen an influx in browns in the interior design space. Warm browns can add an air of sophistication to your space. Whether you’re after something rich and deep like an espresso or your’e after something more earthy like a terracotta clay colour, there’s a brown for everyone!

The versatility of brown is what has made it so popular in 2024, it works with a bunch of different colours and decor styles and it helps to add a real cosy vibe to your home. Brown is the perfect interior paint colour to help add warmth and comfort to your space.

Blues (Duh!)

Blues have always remained popular with interior designers and decorators but this year we are seeing blues with a bit of a twist! Blues that have a grey undertone has really been soaring in popularity this year and it’s a great way to add depth to traditional blue hues.

Blues with grey undertones are so versatile, they can work with both warm and cool tones so they’re bound to go with all your existing decor and furniture. These grey blue hues are perfect for creating a calm, serene space in places you want to relax like bedrooms or living areas.

Bold colours

Bold colours are well and truly back for 2024 and they’re perfect for adding a bright, vibrant splash of energy to your space. If you’re looking to add some vibrancy to your home or you’re looking to create a statement accent piece, reds, turquoise and lime-greens are just the thing you need in 2024!

Home offices, living rooms and entertainment spaces can really benefit from a pop of bold colour and if you’re looking for a way to add some flair to your home, a bold paint colour is the perfect thing.

Half height colour

This is a great way to really add some interest to your bedroom. The half height design means you create a horizontal line all the way around your room and paint the lower half the colour of your choice. A half height design is a great way to really add to your space and level up your decor whilst still being simple enough to tackle solo.

All the greens

Greens, like blues, have never really gone anywhere, but in 2024 there are so many more shades gaining popularity. Instead of only opting for the bright, lime greens of years past, more neutral, earthy tones and deeper greens are becoming more commonplace in 2024.

Adding an olive green pop or a deep forest green feature wall can really help you to bring nature indoors. Greens are particularly calming so they’re perfect for any area where you’re wanting to make relaxation the key focus. Think an olive green reading nook or a deep green bedroom, greens are really here to stay for the remainder of 2024 and beyond!

Take on the second half of 2024 with a fresh coat of paint!

A fun and interesting way to add a pop of colour to your bedroom is to paint only the ceiling! Painting the ceiling can really add some interest to your bedroom, and the best part is that none of your precious painting will be covered by furniture!

Diagonal lines

This is another fun one for the kids (or the kids at heart!) Adding a diagonal line is a creative way to add a pop of colour to your bedroom. Choose a darker colour on the bottom and a lighter colour on top to make sure that the bedroom stays light and bright and voila! A super simple way to jazz up any bedroom!
